On this day the weather prevented us from even seeing the fort from this Carlton Ferry Crossing vantage point!

This is an PIONEER HOMESTEAD from
the late days of the fort.

This homestead was used for a check point for several snowmobile poker derbies in the area for years and likely being very close to Fort Carlton would  have a lot of history.

The Carlton Trail runs NE from the fort right past the Carlton Trail Log cabins in Nisbet Forest. The Green Lake trail runs NW from the fort to the original Green Lake fur trade post location.
