You'll notice not many photos were taken in the country side between the Forks and Macdowall! See the link at the end of the paragraph, to many of the area photos from previous trips! Leaving Choiceland at noon did not give us a lot of time to make small town gas stops on a Sunday! 5 more minutes and we would of wished we left someone behind in Choiceland to fiend for them selves! We rode noonish to Birch Hills, 125 miles in less than 5 hours cross country, making many stops. ie: James Smith, the Forks, and a detour around what appeared to be a huge drainage or Ducks Unlimited project. It turned out it was 170 miles back! Wouldn't trade the ride for anything, it had been 10 years since I had rode Birch Hills to St. Louis running south of the South Branch all the way, and it was good.
