This is a road allowance along the Nisbet Forest that we often
ride safely, until one time we find someone has stapled barbed
wire across and thru the trees. Not typical and not approved by
any authority. Luckily we were able to spot it before
someone was beheaded by a single wire. |
There is
likely a story to go with this wire evident in the snap.
Until I post a video,
lets just call it "over exuberance" and
"barb wire(s) broken" by "misadventure" . |
Looking closely you can see the loops of
barbed wire in the snow stretched out where it is wrapped around
my right front ski spindle. |
Barbed wire is seen often around
scrapped vehicles and old homesteads long abandoned. |
This cut line is a neat one that
eventually takes you into some small lakes, but the down hill
side of the cut line has a barbed wire bordering it in the
trees. If you look closely this cut line requires some extra
skill and aggressive balancing skills to stay clear of
the wire. |
Yours truly knew that a fence and gate was in the
vicinity....2 more inches and she would of been scratched. |
Ol buddy jumped off just in time to
watch his sled go thru the fence while everyone else went thru
the open gate. You only had to be there! We are pretty sure that
100MPH past a
"Danger" sign is
going to have some pretty strong
consequences! |
Here is a gate and fence line in Nisbet that I think has
disappeared in recent years. There are some other fences that
appeared to have been erected in the Nisbet Forest at random to
suite nearby ranchers. I see some of these have also disappeared
in recent years. |

This is just proof that some Barb Wire is
