11:55 AM Gooood Morning !

Maybe there is a chance we will stock up on Vitamin D today after all!

Getting a game plan together.

We warm up on some small sloughs man the sleds are spinning down to ice a km at a time!

One of many cutlines in the forest.

12:15 PM Light at the end of the tunnel.

Ya we are happy until we get in the thick of things!

Trees are down everywhere here.

I have some maps out and we are looking ahead to see how bad this is.

Ok so instead of breaking out the chain saw, we vote to exhaust other routes first.

Looking north for the remote and pristine
Fort à la Corne Provincial Forest. Pristine all right it is hard slugging across this vast wilderness, over around and under fallen trees, with no sun just a guess which direction we have continued in.

2:05 PM
I carry on for awhile my self minimizing potential damage to some of the other sleds.

Back and just littered with tree branches and bark it turns out a few of these dead trees are now chop sticks!

I think my news that I found the Whitefox River has the expected response, "lets go!"

Photos after the marshland bushwhack 'in,
and to our pure joy the
Formula One blast down the Whitefox River.
Never in my life.........

Parked on the Whitefox River, I crawl up onto the beaver house to take some snaps in each direction. All you see is marsh land covered in brush or mature fallen trees. There is a lot of 4 legged animal tracks on this beaver house. Doubt they are welcome visitors.

Exit stage left....ready and warmed up to go back up the Whitefox river!

There are beaver houses everywhere you look out here.

2:49 PM

3:16 PM

Chow time just on the tree line...

...with our backs to a bit of gusty wind.

4:06 PM North West
