RIDE'N WITH THE BOYZ
(Back road corridor fun)
March 3, 2007

Just over half way to Emma Lake we decide to pull the plug, stuck  non-stop since Holbein, we've decided to head SW cross country to Shellbrook for lunch!

Here we are stopping for a breather near Miners Creek.

Miners Creek looking North.

Looking South from Miners Creek.

Stuck in the power line cut line!

A near miss, we're headed for that summer road corridor, straight ahead!

I've buried the XC SP climbing an incline near the old Crutwell Ferry crossing.

The next stop on the way to Emma is Holbein for fuel. We stopped there for fuel at 1:10 PM ($24.22), a little later than usual.

Looking north after the Shellbrook River crossing, this looks like one inviting blow thru corridor!

Looking back I see we're missing some people right off the get go!

Your supposed to ride the top of the banks like a bronco, just keep her WOT!!!

I thought there was a couple of the boys back there!

OK there is a couple of folks digging this one out!

Going back is not an option, once your committed the tree lines surrounding this blow thru corridor keeps ya in line!!

Now every one and their dog is helping dig these Renegades out!

Walking back to help one more time.

Not stuck again we've got miles of this right to the Sturgeon River valley!

Why are you..........stuck in the trees! A back road corridor is not a great place to ride Shotgun!

That's not looking to good!

The real story is in the background! Maybe a little more W.O.T. would help!

Some ones off course...again!

3:00PM We emerged from this trail that I took 10 years ago that lead directly to Sturgeon Lake, just to find it grown in, we were stuck down in the bush for quite a while.
It's taken us 2 hours to travel the last 18 miles, specifically an hour and a half to go the last 2 miles! Just half way to Emma we pack it in.

We book it cross country for Shellbrook, some 20 plus miles, we're there in 25 minutes!

We got fuel at 3:24PM, mine was $23.18, and relaxed after the workout. We left the restaurant at 4:53PM

South of Shellbrook we cross Callaghan Lake and ride into some Nisbet trails that have been untouched all winter!

Yahoo now some perfect powder trail riding.............no more get' in stuck!

What?

You have to be kidding!

Holy mackerel what a day to have behind us!

"If I recall correctly I don't think I've ever got stuck before"

"You must have a short memory there bud"

So where to? Which way back to Macdowall?

Any way as long as we don't have to ride any more of those blown in summer roads!

"It's a long way back and Noel will take it easy on us!"

This is unreal.........

........just unbelievable!

Smile at the birdie!

Running back to Saskatoon!
