All fired up at -33 !! YIKES One sled doesn't fire immediately after a extended 3 hour open pickup tow.....wind chill minus 100 and counting...once the boys get the drive rolled back and completely shifted into neutral...we were away. Big smiles all around! LOL

By 12:12PM, we pull out! Leaving the gas station and heading NE All gassed up and no place to go? Hardly! We have a long ways to go!

With the North Branch river crossing in our sights, with out stopping or skipping a beat we keep on a NE heading thru the snowy "WEATHER"!
Still moving north towards correction line. We are slugging heavy fields from the river crossing to the back corridors ahead. Crossing the river I can't help but think about the "Missouri Boat Ride!" |

I am looking hard into the horizon for the pioneer homestead that we have stopped at other years for shelter. |
Bingo we pull into the shelter of an old
yard site exactly like the year before! Except one thing! ...and someone says "I sure wish I had a big Kahuna burger!"
Sometimes you need to travel in a
direction that runs This was a long stretch...I know folks were hopping around to keep the heat at our pioneer homestead stop, a few km out of this stop and I am watching for a major road that will take us straight north to #55 hiway. This will be the most direct way to short stop for fuel. It is clear the short stop in Smeaton is the best idea, weather or no weather if you can't ride with the hammer down....."A Mans Got To Know His Limitations!" |
