heading straight north for the paved road as a guide in this

by accident! Just south of Garths!
On this day we accidentally rode in from the east at the pioneer
crossing exiting to the south.

We pull out of the shelter of some
trees in the back country up against the border of the Forest, we
have hit the back roads and I haven't said anything but I am looking
for the
"Southern
Cross!"
With the storm subsiding in this back
country bordering the forest we are getting off the beaten trail
here and there...man the snow is being just pounded shot after shot
onto my hood like someone with a scoop shovel is shoveling snow! |

Off course by a half mile we run parallel to another road and cross the Garden River valley on queue!! Then is is another open stretch in the wind. Regardless of our stops to "pick me UP off the ground" we are still looking forward to an opportunity to pull in out of the weather. On the look out I am watching for that exact location in the blowing snow. Hitting an old back road that I know will line up with an abandoned church, we gather until we are all accounted for. We seek shelter in the old
church...off I go again!
