We start our day with plans to ride north to the groomed trail. |
A humid frosty ride up to Macdowall from Saskatoon. |
We cross the
North Branch
on our way to Rout 66.A |
We have made it together as far as the North Branch. Now onto
Holbein thru the last section of Nisbet. |
This is your last chance for fuel before either Debden or Emma
Lake! Hmm...! |
So there is 4 cocky ones besides yours truly, who do not feel
they need to gas up in Holbein just down the road 1/2 a mile
away! |
We pop up into a meadow off of the Shell River. |
"All right you &%#@ &% ^%$#@*&'s!" "Lets
have a race!" |
|
|
A little?
PIKES PEAK
in Saskatchewan! |

A |
We stop at the groomed trail to reflect on which direction we
will go, east or west. Same distance either way. |
Sure one XCR owner talks motor mounts, |
Next thing we are finding an
abundance of broken XCR motor mounts! |
And up until now the sleds were running just great... and
continue to until... |
Mr. 600 MXZ runs out of gas 15 or
so miles later... I get 10$ worth and Mr. 583 MXZ and I run the
gas can 5 miles back out to him! |
With 10 extra miles on I fill up and take $31.92, divide by
$74.9 per L. I took 42.61L and have a 50L tank! |
Mr. 583 MXZ definitely need gas as well! |
On the way back down the groomed trail we stop at the club house
on the groomed trail in the Sturgeon Valley. |
Suntan snow! Yes the afternoon weather was nice! |
|
|
The next 20 miles is imbedded in my
brain!
I snow dust Mr. XCR (red) and he blows by
me on this back road...
|
Flat out on
the
F-5 five at XX, yup only double digits here no need to
exaggerate but flat out I slowly ride into a hell of a shit
storm, then it pulls away, then I ride into it again, and again
it pulls away...this happens like 4 or 5 times...
chatting here in this photo I ask! And he says "he was at XXX
and would back off and cool the jets a bit
then back to XXX"!!! |
Yup and it was
a nice sunny day! |
Back Road
Corridors
with some blow thru banks from
the tree line. |
Nice soft banks for a little air time. |
Making a few
Tracks in the fields. |
|
|
These are big rolling hills in the
Stubble fields
up here. |
